2021-03-04 11:30

At present, the COVID-19 epidemic situation is still severe, and the risk of cross-infection from international travel remains relatively high. Chinese Embassy in Maldives recommends "no travel unless necessary". In order to reduce cross-border transmission of Covid-19 and ensure the health and safety of China-bound passengers, starting from February 24, 2021, all Chinese and foreign passengers bound for China will be required to travel via only one country, and upload your complete itinerary and proof of residence in Maldives(e.g. Work permit, Visa, etc.) when applying for a health code (a health declaration code) from the Chinese Embassy in Maldives. If your itinerary does not meet the above requirements, you may not be eligible to obtain a green health code (health declaration code) for boarding.

The specific requirements are as follows:

1. Since there are currently no direct flights from Maldives to China, All China-bound passengers must apply for the green health code from the Chinese Embassy in Maldives before departure to ensure obtaining the green health code at the transit place. Simultaneously, the Chinese Embassy in Maldives will no longer accept applications for a Health Code or Health Declaration code of those who depart from a third country and transit through Maldives to China.

2. In order to avoid the increasing risk of cross-infection via multiple transits, please be sure to make only one transit while travelling to China, and upload your complete itinerary and proof of residence in Maldives(e.g. Work permit, Visa, etc.) when applying for a health code (health declaration code) from the Chinese Embassy in Maldives. If your itinerary does not meet the above requirements, you may not be eligible to obtain a green health code (a health declaration code) for boarding. The Chinese Embassy in the transit country will also review your itinerary. For relevant requirements, please pay attention to the relevant Notice of the Chinese Embassy in the transit place.

3. All China-bound passengers should take at least 14 days self-quarantine in a single room before departure and monitor your health conditions as required. Those who have been in self-quarantine for 14 days with the normal body temperature and no respiratory symptoms may take nucleic acid tests and serum IgM and IgG antibody tests at the designated institutions within 48 hours before departure. The Chinese Embassy in Maldives will decide whether to issue a Health Code or Health Declaration Code based on the regulations and the test results(test value).

4. All China-bound passengers who have a positive result of nucleic acid test and serum IgM and IgG antibody tests in designated institutions(check designated institutions http://mv.chineseembassy.org/eng/sgsd/t1838551.htm) will be deemed infected before, except for those who hold a certificate of vaccination.

Passengers infected before should take tests twice at two different designated institutions at least 24 hours apart in accordance with the requirements of the Chinese Embassy in Maldives. When the test results meet the requirements and self-quarantine in a single room for more than 14 days is completed, the passenger may take the nucleic acid and serum antibody tests at the designated institutions within 48 hours before departure. When the test results meet the requirements, the passenger may apply for a health code or health declaration code from the Chinese Embassy in Maldives.

5. All China-bound Passengers should abide by the epidemic prevention and control regulations strictly and submit relevant materials truthfully. Otherwise, the Embassy will refuse to issue the codes, and the loss caused shall be borne by the applicant.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
