On 25th June 2014, the Chinese Ambassador to Maldives H.E. Mr. Wang Fukang met with the Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture H.E. Dr. Mohamed Shainee.
Ambassador Wang expressed that in recent years, the China-Maldives relationship has developed steady and smooth , especially in the bilateral cooperation in the field of fisheries and agriculture. As a leading country in the fisheries and agricultural sector, China is willing to share experiences with the Maldives, strengthening bilateral cooperation in the cultivation and processing of marine and agricultural products.
Minister Shainee expressed his gratitude towards China for the support and contribution towards the development of Maldivian fisheries and agricultural sector. Currently, Maldives is facing great challenges in this sector, and hopes to further strengthen bilateral exchanges and cooperation between China and Maldives, enhancing growth in the related industry, to benefit the Maldivian people.
