The Chinese Ambassador to Maldives, H.E. Mr. WangFukang inspects the Maldivian agriculture project

From 21st to 22nd January 2015, the Chinese Ambassador to Maldives H.E. Mr. Wang Fukang visited HaaDhaalu atoll in northern Maldives to inspect the Maldivian agriculture and animal husbandry project. The Ambassador was accompanied by the Head of Commercial Section Mr. Yang Wenxiong, and the Head of Political section, Mr. Yin Jun.

Ambassador Wang and officers from the Ministry of Agriculture of Maldives visited the Agricultural Centre in Hanimaadhoo island, inspectingthe facility and the sustainable agriculture and animal husbandry project carried out under Chinese assistance.

At Vaikaradhoo island, the team inspectedthe agricultural cultivation and animal husbandry conditions.

Ambassador Wang held separate meetings with the Council members of Haa Dhaalu atoll, Hanimadhoo, and Vaikaradhoo islands.

Ambassador Wang expressed that, in recent years, the China-Maldives relations have had successful developments, and especially the successful realization of bilateral visits by the Chinese and Maldivian Presidents have lead to the establishment of future-oriented friendly and cooperative partnership, Both countries have agreed to jointly participate in establishing the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, further strengthening bilateral relations. China is willing to continue to assist Maldives within itscapability in all areas, hoping to achieve mutually beneficial and joint development.

The Maldivian officials thanked China for the sustained assistance, and expressed that the Maldives is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in all areas, enhancing exchange and friendship, benefitting the two peoples.
