H.E. Ambassador Wang Lixin was born in Tianjin in 1972, and holds a bachelor's degree.

As a career diplomat, Ambassador Wang has served as Deputy Director, Counsellor and Director of Department of Asian Affairs, MFA, and Counsellor, Deputy Director-General of Department of External Security Affairs, MFA. She has been posted to Embassies of China in India, Singapore and Nepal.  

Since August 2021, Ambassador Wang has assumed her current post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Maldives.
