--Story 11 on 50 Years of China-Maldives Diplomatic Ties

Dr. Adeel Shareef started his Chinese experience at Dalian Medical University, Dalian in North East China. He was quick to blend in with the local community on campus by developing close friendships.

Having overcome the language barrier by constant help from teachers and friends, Dr. Adeel enjoyed a wonderful life and was active with NGOs like Dalian Red Cross and Rotary Club of Dalian. He also became the 1st Maldivian runner of Dalian Marathon.

Dr. Adeel underwent 6 years of medical training and was the first Maldivian student of the university to undertake a one-year internship at the university affiliated hospital. He graduated in 2015 and was awarded MBBS degree.

After returning to Maldives, Dr. Adeel joined ADK Hospital as an Emergency Medical Officer. He continues to offer support and care to Chinese citizens when needed and made ADK Hospital the focal point of healthcare for the Chinese community in Maldives.

Dr. Adeel also serves as the Vice President for International Affairs of CMCA and has actively participated in people-to-people diplomacy and promoting friendly relations between Maldives and China. Thank you, Dr. Adeel, Ambassador of China-Maldives friendship!
