To celebrate the 50th anniversary of China-Maldives diplomatic relations, the Chinese Embassy and PSM worked together and produced a three-episode documentary series entitled China-Maldives: A True Friendship, which introduced the political, economic and cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. 

Episode 1 of the documentary, China-Maldives: Bilateral History, contains the precious historic footage of the major political exchanges in the 50 years’ history of China-Maldives bilateral relations, which comprehensively reflects that China and Maldives have always enjoyed close and friendly relationship. 

Episode 2 of the documentary, A Reliable Development Partner, shows the major outcomes of the practical cooperation in various fields, especially the achievements of jointly building “Belt and Road” between the two countries in recent years such as the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge, the Social Housing Project, and the Expansion and Upgrading project of the Velana International Airport. This episode tells us that China has always been a reliable cooperative partner to the Maldives.

Episode 3 of the documentary, A Bond of Friendly Cooperation, tells some real and small stories about people-to-people exchanges and cultural cooperation between the two countries, which highlights the the deep-rooted friendship between the Chinese people and the Maldivian people.
